It's me

About Me

I used to practice dentistry in Centereach, New York. Centereach is a community on Long Island in Suffolk County. It got its name from being almost dead center on the Island from both East to West, and North to South. Centereach is South of Stony Brook where the State University of New York has a campus, including a School of Dental Medicine.

More years ago than I care to think about, I graduated from James Madison, HS** in Brooklyn, NY. Besides myself Madison had several notable graduates... Senators Chuck Schumer and Bernie Sanders and Associate Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg.  I then went to  Brooklyn College and earned my Bachelor of Science degree in biology. From there I attended the New York University College of Dentistry, where I got my DDS.

But even before all of that I attended Cunningham JHS 234. I was a member of a very special class... the dramatics class. May 30th, 1998 we had a reunion. Our very special classmate, the incredibly popular Judge Judy Sheindlin was there.  I hope I don't ruin her image by saying she was a sweetheart back then and still is.

After graduating from dental school I served two years as a dental officer in the US Navy. My first tour of duty was really rough. I spent the summer of 1969 in Newport, Rhode Island. As the Navy slogan goes... "Join the Navy and see the World." so for the next 21months I was sent to... Brooklyn. First at the Naval Air Station, New York more commonly known as Floyd Bennett Field and then at the Brooklyn Naval Receiving Station which had previously had a glorious history as the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Upon completion of my tour of duty I began a private practice... first in Lake Grove, NY and then relocating to the larger office in Centereach.

In 1990 I served as the President of the Suffolk County Dental Society. I also served as President of the New York State Academy of General Dentistry and Speaker of the House of the Academy of General Dentistry.

I became a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry in 1981.What is the AGD?. I am a member of both the International College of Dentists and the American College of Dentists. I became a Fellow of the Colleges in 1987 and 1993, respectively.

On May 1, 1998, I was honored by the New York State Academy of General Dentistry when they presented me with the Meritorious Service Award.  That evening I was also presented with a Congressional Proclamation.  Then in January 2006 I again had the honor of receiving the Meritorious Service Award from the Suffolk County Dental Society.

Back when I was still practicing dentistry many of my patients told me that they appreciated that I always had a joke for them... some old, some new and almost all of them funny but er um tasteless.  And to those people who appreciated my sense of humor and even to those who simply tolerated it... I give you the new iteration of my web page.  Me telling jokes.

** James Madison HS is the only high school to have had graduates serving as three United States Senators and a United States Supreme Court Justice all at the same time (2003 - 2009). Senators: Charles Schumer D-NY, Bernie Sanders I-VT, Norm Coleman R-MN and Associate Justice of the US Supreme Court Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

This web site is being converted from the site that told of my office to one that will both be informative and offer you some entertainment in other areas.
